IES delivers exercises on the four basic sentence types: simple, compound, complex, and compound-complex, so learners use them to answer questions. Because there are a myriad of words and ways to express oneself, for some literature and history exercises, for example, IES provides answers in complete sentences and learners self-correct and or share for feedback in learning communities such as chat rooms; these interactions provoke discussions which enhances intellectual discourse.
