The Five Freedoms Network

Prior to attending the leadership academy I had plenty of questions about this group. I wasn't sure how this academy fits into my thoughts about leadership and how I would plan to utilize it in the future. One goal from FF is to create more democratic learning communities. Although this week will be an experience in which I will learn the principles of FF leadership. I am keeping an open mind. I have been involved with several learning communities and each time you wonder when the group becomes a community. I believe that this started when we were asked to pick a partner that we didn't know and I was fortunate enough to find Dorothy who had excellent stories and insight. In the middle of the microlab protocol, we had a fire drill. I noticed that many of the participants began to chat with each other and I felt that on the way down the 8 stories of stairs the labs kept on going. I am excited to see what the rest of the week has to offer.

Hi Daniel,
Your reflection is great for someone like me- coming to the conference late in the game. Thanks for inviting me to your network, I hope we get to connect tomorrow. Your story sounds fascinating.

Thanks for sharing, Daniel -- I agree that the fire drill ended up taking us someplace useful. And I liked your tricked-out page!
