My Story:
I'm a former Peace Corps Volunteer teacher and a former English, history and journalism teacher with experience at elementary, middle and high schools. I've served students with skills ranging from the profoundly remedial to Advanced Placement. Through my experiences in the third world and in U.S. schools, I've learned to value the voices of all people. I've learned there is no monopoly on wisdom, insight, or common sense. Because of this, I'm a strong believer in the candid sharing of information with school governance teams-- from school boards to site councils to advisory groups to student councils--in order for these citizens to have meaningful roles in shaping policies and making decisions that effect their lives and their communities.

Jep...you are an inspiration! Just think what we can do together to influence the future schools in our county!!! Look foward to working together in this social network and our own school work in Calaveras County.

Jep! Welcome to the Network -- and thanks for your comment on the introduction to my book. I promise to keep you posted.

Poke around the site a bit to see what it has to offer, and please make it your own -- join existing (or start new) discussions, share photos and/or videos, form a group, keep a blog, etc. Feel free to invite others to join us here as well -- this is a flat hierarchy. And when you're next online, please upload a photo of yourself -- that and your profile are the main ways others here can get a sense of who you are and what you believe.

Post a comment on my page anytime if you have questions or ideas. And thanks for joining us!
