My Story:
Got the journo bug in high school, spent 14 years at daily newspapers (The WSJ and Atlanta Constitution), then turned my career to the classroom, hoping to train the next generation of journos. Then the Knight Foundation FA study sent me screaming into the streets, so I've been trying to do what I can since to boost attitudes and knowledge about the FA. Sam kicked off our yearlong FA Festival at CWU w/ an incredibly inspiring daylong workshop that people are STILL raving about! I've steered clear of social networking for fear of the time suck, but THIS is worth wading in for!

Cynthia -

I just realized that my slideshow on my profile is set on random shuffle. So the numbers of the photos that you were interested in are subject to change! Could you tell me again which ones were of interest? maybe a brief description?

Thanks!

I came into contact mainly with teachers while at the conference. However, I would recommend contacting Randy Swikle whom I believe is retired now, but isstill running programs at his old school? not sure if that will help! But I would also check the group "McCormick Leadership Academy" because the people there all attended.

Cynthia! Helloooo out there. You need to join the newly-formed Center for Scholastic Journalism. These are your people -- and some good conversations are already underway there. Check 'em out and share your voice.
